Recently the center had a visit from Limpopo University, South Africa. The group consisted of clinicians and researchers. During their visit apart from getting a presentation of WHO CC, they were particularly interested in womens’ health programs in Sweden. In the region where they are active, northern South Africa, maternal health issues heavily needs to be strengthened.

The visit was planned and funded together with South African Medical research Council and FORTE (Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare)

Professor Linda Skaal, Public Health Specialist, Professor Tibogo Motiba, department of Nursing Science and Ms Matidze, manager for a maternal health unit in Limpopo Province in meeting with Professor Hanne Tönnesen and Vanja Berggren.

A new study by Mette Rasmussen and Hanne Tönnesen has just been published on BMJ open. The study compared different smoking cessation programmes. 

Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services (HPH) are holding their annual conference in Vienna this week. Thor Bern Jensen, affiliated to the WHO CC, is holding a symposium on Friday April 14th, together with Jeff Kirk Svane. Since the designation of the center in February last year some of the highlights include a new PhD, several articles published, the launch of the web page and the official opening in May 2016.
